Our first trip to Isla Mujeres was in 2004. We were planning our destination wedding and friends recommended Isla Mujeres knowing that we wanted a place that was safe and tranquil, while still being lively. Isla Mujeres was the place!

We returned the following year for our anniversary and fell in love even more with the island and it’s people and subsequently ended up buying an apartment in a predominately Mexican building. The friendliness and hospitality of our neighbours and other residents of the island was overwhelming. Stu became a great charade player while trying to learn Spanish!

In 2014 we decided to purchase what is now Sol 2 Soul Casitas, knowing that we will eventually retire there. For the past 13 years we have never missed an anniversary on Isla Mujeres and have been fortunate to form many new and genuine friendships. Although we can’t be on the island full time, we make multiple trips between our island home and our home in Canada. We hope our guests experience this same hospitality and take in all the charm of this small island paradise.
